Quick answers
- How much does it cost?
- Maternity Photoshoot starts from PLN 800. The final price depends on the place, duration, date, time of day, travel and any add-ons such as video, and is stated in your proposal before you book.
- How long does it take?
- A typical session lasts 1 hour and you receive around 25 edited photos.
- What is included?
- A short exchange about the place, time of day, outfits and who will be in the photos
- A plan paced for pregnancy: short stretches, breaks and somewhere to sit
- Gentle posing, with nothing that strains your back or needs long standing
- About 60 minutes of photography in one place (the starting package)
- Where does it take place?
- Popular places include Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, Wrocław, and Poznań. Your photographer suggests the best spot for your date, the light and the crowds.
- Who is it for?
- Expectant mothers who want a few calm portraits from this time
- Couples expecting their first child, often with no previous shoot together
- Families with an older child waiting for a brother or sister
- Expats who want photographs to send to family in another country
- How does booking work?
- Send a free request with your place, date and plans. Kadrova checks which photographers are available and replies with a proposal stating the photographer, the package and the exact price. Nothing is booked until you accept.
The bump shows best in the third trimester, which is also when you tire most quickly. That is why most maternity sessions happen between weeks 28 and 34: the shape is clear, and an hour of photographs with a couple of changes of scene is still comfortable. With twins, aim a little earlier, around weeks 26 to 30.
If you are expecting far from family, perhaps after moving to Warsaw or Kraków for work, these photographs often end up being shared with grandparents abroad. A session lasts about an hour and needs no experience in front of a camera. The photographer directs with small prompts and builds in breaks for water and sitting down.
Kadrova does not employ photographers. We match you with an independent professional reviewed for portfolio, experience with maternity sessions and languages, and send you a proposal with their name, package and price before anything is booked. Many families pair this session with a newborn session a few weeks later; pricing explains how starting prices work.
How it works
- 1
Send a free availability request
Tell us how far along you are, your preferred dates, the city and whether you are thinking outdoors, studio or home. It is free and places you under no obligation: check availability.
- 2
We match you with a photographer
We check which photographers experienced in maternity work are free in your city and reply personally. You can ask for a photographer who speaks English; languages are listed on profiles.
- 3
You receive a proposal
It names the photographer, the duration, what is included, the price and the payment terms, such as a deposit (in Polish, zadatek). The delivery time for your photographs is stated there too.
- 4
Confirm and meet on the day
The booking is confirmed when you accept. The photographer agrees the meeting point with you and, if the forecast is poor or you are unwell, suggests another day under the terms in the proposal.

Where the session happens
Outdoors, choose places that are flat and close to parking: meadows and parks on the edge of Warsaw, the Vistula boulevards or Las Wolski in Kraków, the parks of Poznań. On the coast at Sopot and Gdynia the beaches face east, so the sun rises over the water and sets behind the town; the warmest light on the sand comes early in the morning. A home or studio session works in any season. For an overview of family sessions by city, see family photoshoots in Poland.
Preparation tips
- Book around week 26 to 28 and plan the shoot for weeks 30 to 34, which leaves room to move the date.
- Pick clothes that show the bump: a fitted stretch dress, a long flowing gown, or your partner’s shirt worn open.
- From May to August, aim for the last hour before sunset. In June that is roughly 20:00 to 21:00; in October around 17:00.
- Wear comfortable shoes to walk in and change on the spot. In a meadow, insect repellent and a blanket help.
- Flowering rapeseed fields in May make a strong yellow backdrop, but they are a farmer’s crop. Shoot from the edge or a field track, not inside the field.
- Keep the day calm. A session squeezed in after work shows on your face more than missing make-up does.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a maternity photoshoot in Poland cost?
A maternity photoshoot through Kadrova starts from PLN 800 for about 60 minutes in one place. The price depends on the photographer, city, date, duration and add-ons such as a second location or studio hire. The final figure is in your proposal before you book.
When is the best time in pregnancy for a maternity shoot?
Most sessions take place between weeks 28 and 34. The bump is clearly visible and an hour of photography is still comfortable. With twins, or if your doctor has advised rest, an earlier date is wiser.
Outdoors, studio or at home: which should we choose?
Outdoors gives natural light and space but depends on weather and season. A studio offers controlled light and simple backgrounds whatever the weather. A home session is the calmest and pairs well with photos of the prepared nursery.
Can my partner and older child be in the photos?
Yes, partners and older siblings often join. Mention it in your request so the photographer can start with the child while they are fresh and finish with portraits of you. More people does not change the starting price unless your proposal says otherwise.
What if I feel unwell on the day?
Let the photographer know as soon as you can. Rescheduling for health reasons is common with maternity sessions, and the exact rescheduling and cancellation terms are set out in your proposal. That is one reason to plan the shoot with a few weeks to spare before your due date.
Can we book a newborn session at the same time?
You can ask for the same photographer for both, which keeps the style consistent. The newborn session is quoted separately, and its exact day is fixed after the baby is born.
