With toddlers, the best location is not the prettiest spot in Warsaw but the one you reach without stress and where the children can run. Almost every district has such a park, and the photographer travels to you, from Żoliborz to Ursynów.

Nobody lines the kids up for a family session. The photographer suggests games, a walk, a cuddle on a blanket, and the pictures happen in between. The time is set around naps and meals rather than perfect light — a happy child at 10:00 beats a tired one at golden hour. Many expat families book here, and English-speaking photographers are easy to request.

Where the session happens

  1. 01

    Royal Łazienki

Avenues, a lake with the Palace on the Isle, and squirrels and peacocks that children adore. A classic backdrop, loveliest in autumn. The park has its own regulations, including on photo sessions, and its rules apply to prams and bikes too, so check the current terms with the Łazienki administration.

Best time: Morning after the gates open; September and October.

  2. 02

    Pole Mokotowskie

Open meadows, a pond, tall grass and plenty of room to run. Children can just be children here, and parents do not need to worry about anything getting damaged. Ideal for loose, natural frames in motion.

Best time: Afternoon before sunset, May to September.

  3. 03

    Skaryszewski Park

A large park in Praga-Południe with a small lake, footbridges, old trees and playgrounds. Calmer than Łazienki and handy for families from Saska Kępa, Grochów and Gocław.

Best time: Late morning or late afternoon.

  4. 04

    Kabaty Woods (Las Kabacki)

A forest right by the last stop of the M1 metro line, with wide, flat paths that work with a pram. Tall trees give soft, diffused light even at midday, and a carpet of leaves in autumn.

Best time: Any time of day; best in autumn.

  5. 05

    Kępa Potocka

A green peninsula in Żoliborz surrounded by water, with wooden jetties and a playground. Intimate and shady in summer, convenient for families from Żoliborz and Bielany.

Best time: Afternoon, spring to autumn.

  6. 06

    Your home

An at-home session is the best choice in winter, with babies and whenever everyday life matters most: breakfast, a story on the sofa, bath time. The photographer needs one room with a big window; mess is fine, just clear one corner.

Best time: Late morning, when rooms get the most daylight.

Typically included

  • Agreeing the children’s ages, routine and a park or home setting
  • About 60 minutes of photography in one Warsaw location
  • Games instead of lining the family up
  • Selection and editing of the best images
  • An online gallery to download; timing in your proposal

Preparation

  • Book a slot just after a nap and a meal, not just before.
  • Dress in 2–3 calm, matching colours with no big logos or slogans.
  • Bring a snack, water, wipes and a favourite toy — but skip brightly coloured sweets.
  • In spring and autumn pack a layer to take off; little ones get cold or hot quickly.
  • Do not promise rewards for “nice smiles” — the photographer works better with a child who feels no pressure.

Time of day

With small children the best hour is when they are rested and fed — often late morning. If the routine allows, the afternoon before sunset gives the warmest light: around 19:00–20:00 in summer and 16:00–17:00 in autumn. Under forest trees and in shade you can shoot at midday too.

Weather

Warsaw’s easiest months for family photos are May, June, September and October. In July and August midday heat makes the shade of Kabaty Woods or an evening slot the better choice. From November to March a warm flat usually beats a freezing park. If it rains you can move indoors or pick another day under the terms in your proposal.

Getting there

The photographer comes to you, so choose a park the kids can reach quickly. Łazienki is on Aleje Ujazdowskie, Pole Mokotowskie by the metro station of the same name, Kabaty Woods by Kabaty station and Kępa Potocka by Marymont station. Weekend parking near the parks is tight, so allow a few spare minutes.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a family photoshoot in Warsaw?

An hour with a family photographer in one Warsaw location starts at PLN 800. A longer session, a weekend, a larger family or combining a park with your home are extras itemised in the proposal, and the date is held only after you accept it.

Where should we do family photos in Warsaw?

Popular choices are Łazienki, Pole Mokotowskie, Skaryszewski Park, Kabaty Woods, Kępa Potocka or your home. Pick somewhere close to where you live so the children are not worn out by the journey; the photographer will come to your district.

What age is best for a family session?

Any age — each stage looks different. New walkers bring lots of movement and spontaneity, while older children love little tasks from the photographer. For babies, an at-home session is the most comfortable.

What if our child will not cooperate?

It happens, and nobody expects a two-year-old to pose politely. The photographer slows down, invents a game, and if your child would rather collect chestnuts, photographs exactly that. Those frames often become the most treasured ones.

Park or home?

A park gives space, light and movement; home gives warmth, everyday moments and calm for the youngest. From November to March and with babies, home is usually better. A longer session can combine both.

Can the photographer speak English?

Warsaw photographers speak a range of languages, listed in their profiles. Note in the form which language you want for the session and we will take it into account when choosing your photographer.
