Quick answers
- How much does it cost?
- Engagement Photoshoot starts from PLN 750. The final price depends on the place, duration, date, time of day, travel and any add-ons such as video, and is stated in your proposal before you book.
- How long does it take?
- A typical session lasts 1 hour and you receive around 30 edited photos.
- What is included?
- A short exchange about the place, time of day, style and what the photos are for
- About 60 minutes of shooting in one area, usually two or three settings
- Natural direction: walking, talking, small prompts rather than stiff poses
- A few frames with space for text, if the photos are going on invitations
- Where does it take place?
- Popular places include Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, Wrocław, and Poznań. Your photographer suggests the best spot for your date, the light and the crowds.
- Who is it for?
- Couples who need photographs for save-the-dates or invitations
- Couples who want to meet their wedding photographer before the day
- People who feel awkward on camera and want to practise
- International couples who want photographs in the Polish city where they met
- How does booking work?
- Send a free request with your place, date and plans. Kadrova checks which photographers are available and replies with a proposal stating the photographer, the package and the exact price. Nothing is booked until you accept.
An engagement session usually does two jobs. The practical one: photographs for save-the-date cards, invitations, a wedding website or the guest book. The less obvious one: an hour in which you learn to stand in front of a lens before you do it on the wedding day in front of a hundred guests.
If the session is with your wedding photographer, you get to know each other. They learn your good sides and who needs more direction; you learn how they work. That is why many couples book an engagement shoot together with their wedding photography. In Poland it is called a sesja narzeczeńska, and it has become a common part of wedding planning.
Kadrova matches you with an independent, reviewed photographer and sends a proposal with their name, the package and the price before anything is booked. The session lasts around an hour and usually covers two or three settings close together.
How it works
- 1
Send a request
Tell us the city, the period and your wedding date. If the photos are for invitations, say when you want to send them so there is time to print. The request is free.
- 2
We match a photographer
We check who is free in your city and dates. If you have already booked your wedding photographer through Kadrova, we ask them first. We reply personally.
- 3
You receive a proposal
It names the photographer and states the duration, what is included, the price, the payment terms and the delivery time.
- 4
The session
Once you accept, the photographer fixes the meeting point and time with you. If the weather turns, they suggest another date under the terms in your proposal.

Where the session happens
Engagement sessions usually happen close to home or somewhere that matters to you. In Warsaw, the Royal Łazienki park and the Old Town streets work well; in Kraków, Kazimierz and the Planty park ring; in Toruń, the Gothic old town and the Vistula riverside. On the coast, couples choose the beach in Gdynia or Sopot. A session in Zakopane starts from PLN 1,050, as it takes more time and travel. If you would rather have a session with no wedding in mind, see our couple photoshoot, or browse places in our couple photography guide.
Preparation tips
- If the photos are for invitations, shoot at least a few months before the wedding. Printing and posting take time.
- Dress as you would for a nice dinner, in clothes you feel like yourselves in. Avoid big logos and fine stripes.
- Choose early morning or the last hour before sunset. Midday summer sun leaves hard shadows under the eyes.
- Think about the ring: a clean stone and tidy nails look good in close-ups.
- Bring something that is yours, a dog, bikes or takeaway coffee. It gives your hands something to do.
- If this is with your wedding photographer, tell them what makes you uneasy. It pays off on the day.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an engagement photoshoot cost in Poland?
An engagement session through Kadrova starts from PLN 750 for about an hour in a city. In Zakopane and the Tatras the starting price is PLN 1,050. The final price depends on the photographer, date, duration and add-ons, and is stated in your proposal.
When should we do our engagement shoot?
Three to six months before the wedding works well if the photos are going on invitations or save-the-dates. Otherwise any time during your engagement is fine. A different season from your wedding gives you a different palette.
Does it have to be with our wedding photographer?
No, but it is a common choice because you get to know each other before the day. If your wedding photographer is based in another city, a local photographer can do the session. Say in your request which you prefer.
What should we wear?
Muted colours that go together without matching. Avoid large text, neon and fine patterns. A second outfit is useful if the session runs longer than an hour.
Can we use the photos for printed invitations?
Yes, the gallery includes high-resolution files for personal use, including printing. If you need portrait-format frames or space for text, tell the photographer before the session.
How do we book?
Send a free availability request with the city and dates. We reply personally, and the booking is confirmed when you accept the proposal. Starting prices for other sessions are on our pricing page.
