Quick answers

How much does it cost?
Wedding Photography starts from PLN 8,000. The final price depends on the place, duration, date, time of day, travel and any add-ons such as video, and is stated in your proposal before you book.
How long does it take?
A typical session lasts 10 hours and you receive around 400 edited photos.
What is included?
  • A planning call before the day: timeline, list of family groups, rules at the church or registry office
  • Getting ready for both of you, where the two places are close enough
  • The parents’ blessing, the ceremony, congratulations and group photographs
  • Arrival at the venue, first dance, cake, oczepiny and the party until the agreed hour
Where does it take place?
Popular places include Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, Wrocław, and Poznań. Your photographer suggests the best spot for your date, the light and the crowds.
Who is it for?
  • International and mixed couples marrying in Poland who need a photographer working in English
  • Church, civil and concordat weddings followed by a traditional reception
  • Couples who want the whole day documented, not just the ceremony
  • Weddings at manor houses, barns and country hotels outside the big cities
How does booking work?
Send a free request with your place, date and plans. Kadrova checks which photographers are available and replies with a proposal stating the photographer, the package and the exact price. Nothing is booked until you accept.

A Polish wedding is a long day with its own set pieces, and a photographer who knows them is in the right place before they happen. The parents’ blessing (błogosławieństwo) takes a few minutes in a crowded living room before you leave for the ceremony. Guests throw rice and coins outside the church. At the reception venue your parents greet you with bread and salt, and the party, the wesele, often runs past midnight.

If you are marrying a Polish partner, or you live in Poland and are planning a wedding here, you will want someone who can work with both families and explain what happens next. Kadrova does not employ photographers. We match you with an independent professional reviewed for portfolio, wedding experience, languages and reliability, and send a proposal naming the photographer, the package and the price before anything is booked. Our guide to wedding photography in Poland covers the planning side in more depth.

The starting package covers around 10 hours, which usually means getting ready through to oczepiny. A wedding portrait session on a separate day, called a plener in Polish, is booked on its own. A second photographer and video are add-ons quoted in your proposal.

How it works

  1. 1

    Send a free availability request

Tell us the date, the ceremony and reception venues and the start time. The request is free and places you under no obligation. Saturdays between May and September go early, so ask well ahead.

  2. 2

We match you with a photographer

We check which reviewed wedding photographers are free on your date and in your region, including their languages, and reply personally. If something affects the plan, such as a long drive between church and venue, we ask straight away.

  3. 3

    You receive a proposal

It names the photographer and states the hours, what is included, the add-ons, the price and the payment terms, usually with a deposit (zadatek). The delivery time is stated there too. See pricing for how starting prices work.

  4. 4

    Confirm and plan the day

The booking is confirmed when you accept. Closer to the date, the photographer goes through the timeline and the family group list with you and coordinates with the videographer and the band or DJ if needed.

Where the session happens

We match wedding photographers across Poland. Most requests come from the large cities: read about wedding photography in Warsaw, weddings in Krakow and weddings in Gdańsk, where the Main Town and the Motława waterfront are a short drive from many venues. Manor houses and country hotels are just as common, and the photographer’s travel is quoted in the proposal. For the portrait session afterwards, couples often choose the Tatra mountains around Zakopane, the beach and pier in Sopot or the old town of Wrocław.

Preparation tips

  • Ask your parish or registry office about photography rules during the ceremony. Some priests restrict movement near the altar or the use of flash.
  • Allow 15 to 20 minutes for family groups straight after the congratulations, and give the photographer a written list. A relative who knows everyone speeds this up a lot.
  • Oczepiny, the bouquet and veil games, usually start around midnight. If you want them photographed, agree in advance how long the photographer stays.
  • If you are getting ready in two places more than half an hour apart, consider a second photographer or getting ready in the same hotel.
  • Ask the venue for warm light on the dance floor. Purely coloured LED lighting turns skin purple or green in photographs.
  • For portraits during the reception, step out in the golden hour. In June the sun sets in Poland around 21:00; by late October it is down before 17:00.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Poland?

Full-day wedding coverage through Kadrova starts from PLN 8,000 for around 10 hours. The final price depends on the photographer, region, date, hours, travel and add-ons such as a second photographer, video or an album. You see the exact figure in your proposal before you book.

What is a plener, and is it included?

A plener is a wedding portrait session on a separate day, which is a strong tradition in Poland. It is not part of the wedding-day package and starts from PLN 1,500. You can book it together with your wedding coverage.

Do we need a second photographer?

A second photographer helps when you get ready in two places, when the guest list is long, or when you want the ceremony covered from two sides. For a small wedding one photographer is usually enough. The cost is quoted in your proposal as an add-on.

Can we add video?

Yes, video can be added as an option. Some photographers work regularly with a videographer, which makes coordination in church and at the venue easier. The scope and price are set out in the proposal.

Will the photographer speak English?

Every photographer lists their languages on their profile, and we match on language. Many couples marrying in Poland ask for someone who can speak with both families, in Polish and English, and sometimes Ukrainian. Say in your request which languages matter.

How do we book our wedding date?

Send a free availability request with your date and venues. We reply personally, and the booking is confirmed when you accept the proposal, on the terms it states, usually with a deposit.

Don’t search for a photographer. Tell us your story.

Tell us where, when and what you’re planning. Matching the photographer and checking the date is our part.
