Family photoshoot in Kraków
A Kraków family photoshoot is roughly an hour with an independent photographer in a park — Błonia, Jordan Park, Wolski Forest, the Vistula banks — or in your own flat, finished with an edited gallery; Kadrova organises it from PLN 800.

- When is the best time?
- With toddlers the daily rhythm decides, not the light — usually late morning.

Kraków means the Main Square and Wawel to most visitors, but with little ones green space works better: Błonia, where children can run endlessly, Jordan Park with its playgrounds, and Wolski Forest with shade and leaves. Save the Old Town for older children or an early morning before the crowds arrive.
At a family session no one is lined up in a row. The photographer suggests games, races and a cuddle on a blanket, and captures what happens in between. The hour is chosen around naps and meals — a well-rested child at 10:00 is a better subject than a tired one at golden hour. Families who have moved to Kraków can ask for an English-speaking photographer.

Where the session happens
- 01
Błonia and Jordan Park
A huge meadow minutes from the centre, with Jordan Park next door — paths, a pond, busts of famous Poles and playgrounds. Kids can run on the grass, and when they tire, a playground is close at hand. There are no trees in the middle of Błonia, so low sun gives the best results.
Best time: Afternoon before sunset, May to October.
- 02
Wolski Forest (Las Wolski)
A large forest on the western edge of the city with wide paths, clearings and the Piłsudski Mound. Tall trees give soft light all day, and in autumn the paths are covered in leaves. Quiet and away from traffic.
Best time: Any time of day; loveliest in October.
- 03
Vistula Boulevards
Grassy riverbanks with Wawel behind you or views of Kazimierz and Podgórze. The flat paths suit prams and balance bikes. Warm evenings bring people out, but the boulevards are long and a quiet stretch is easy to find.
Best time: Morning or the hour before sunset.
- 04
Decius Park (Park Decjusza)
The park around the Renaissance Decius Villa in Wola Justowska: old trees, lawns and elegant architecture in the background. Intimate and calm, convenient for families in western Kraków.
Best time: Afternoon, spring to autumn.
- 05
Your home
An at-home session is the best option in winter, with babies, and when you want to keep everyday life: breakfast together, reading, playing on the rug. The photographer needs one room with a big window; the rest of the flat does not have to be spotless.
Best time: Late morning, when rooms are brightest.
Typically included
- A chat first about the kids, their routine and the location
- Around an hour of photos in a Kraków park or your home
- Play and gentle prompts instead of posing
- Editing of the chosen images
- A private web gallery; delivery date in the proposal
Preparation
- Schedule the session after a nap and a meal.
- Choose 2–3 calm colours that go together; avoid big slogans and cartoon characters.
- Bring water, a snack, wipes and a favourite toy.
- In summer take hats and sunscreen for Błonia and the boulevards — there is little shade.
- Tell the children you are going for a walk with someone who takes pictures, not to an “important photoshoot”.
Time of day
With toddlers the daily rhythm decides, not the light — usually late morning. With older children, the afternoon before sunset brings the warmest colours: about 19:30–20:30 in summer and 16:30–17:30 in October. In Wolski Forest and under trees you can photograph at midday too.
Weather
The best months for an outdoor family session in Kraków are May, June, September and October. Summer middays are hot and open Błonia has little shade. In autumn and winter fog often settles over the city, giving soft but cool light; from November to March a home session usually works better. If it rains, you can move indoors or choose another date under the terms in your proposal.
Getting there
Błonia and Jordan Park are about 20 minutes’ walk from the Main Square, by Aleje Trzech Wieszczów with many tram and bus lines. Wolski Forest and Decius Park are a bus or car ride towards Wola Justowska. The boulevards are reached from Kazimierz and below Wawel. The photographer travels to you, so pick a park near home.

How much is a family photoshoot in Kraków?
A family photographer in Kraków costs from PLN 800 for roughly an hour in one park or at home. More time, a Saturday, a bigger family or two places are listed separately in your proposal, and we reserve the date once you accept it.
Where in Kraków is good for family photos?
Families usually choose Błonia and Jordan Park, Wolski Forest, the Vistula banks, Decius Park or home. With little ones, pick somewhere close to home with a playground nearby. The Old Town works best early in the morning and with older children.
Can we have family photos on the Main Square or at Wawel?
Yes, but with small children come early, before the crowds and horse carriages. Wawel Hill has castle regulations that you should check with its office. The boulevards below the hill give a view of Wawel with no formalities.
What if our child gets grumpy?
The photographer is ready for it: takes breaks, suggests a game and photographs what is happening rather than forcing smiles. The best frames often come when a child does something their own way.
Can we combine it with a First Communion or first birthday?
Yes. Family photos are often taken around a communion or christening or a first birthday — in a garden, a park or at home. Mention the occasion in your enquiry and the photographer will plan around it.
We have a baby — park or home?
With babies home is usually better: warmth, calm and the chance to feed at any time. The photographer works by the window, and the rest of the family can be in frame on the sofa or bed. On warmer days a short walk in a nearby park can be added.
