Couple Photoshoot in Kraków
A Kraków couple photoshoot is roughly an hour’s walk with a local photographer through one district — Kazimierz courtyards, the Dębniki bank of the Vistula, the Zakrzówek cliffs or the avenues of Nowa Huta — collecting natural pictures of the two of you along the way; Kadrova matches the photographer to your date, from PLN 750.

In Kraków, one district is enough for a couple session. Kazimierz has gateways, courtyards and murals; the Old Town has townhouses and the Planty park ring; twenty minutes by tram, Nowa Huta has wide avenues and a different mood altogether. Choosing one area and a good hour beats squeezing everything into sixty minutes.
The Kraków photographers we recommend know when the Market Square empties, which way the Szeroka Street facades face at sunset and which Kazimierz courtyards tend to be open. Rather than arranging you in stiff poses, they ask you to walk, talk and look at each other, so most frames happen on the move.
This page covers Kraków. What a couple photoshoot involves, and where else to do one, is in the Poland couple photography guide, including Warsaw. If you are planning to get engaged first, see proposing in Kraków.
Where the session happens
- 01
Kazimierz
Szeroka and Józefa streets, Plac Nowy with its round market hall, and murals on the townhouse walls. Gateways and courtyards give shade in the heat and shelter in rain, and old shop signs make ready backdrops. Weekend late mornings are crowded; weekday mornings are calm.
Best time: A weekday morning, or late afternoon when light comes down the streets from the west.
- 02
Vistula boulevards below Wawel
The grassy slopes along the Vistula leave room to walk, run and sit, with the castle high behind you. There are fewer walkers on the Dębniki side than by the Dragon. Warm evenings bring crowds to the river, but the boulevards stretch far enough to find an empty patch.
Best time: The hour before sunset.
- 03
Planty and the Old Town
The green ring around the Old Town, with paths, benches and townhouses behind the trees. In autumn colour it is one of the loveliest places in the city, and in the early morning the empty Main Square and Cloth Hall are a few steps away.
Best time: Morning; best in October.
- 04
Zakrzówek
The azure water and pale walls of the old quarry look like a Croatian holiday in photographs, yet you get here by tram from the centre. The cliff-top paths lie outside the fenced swimming area, which has its own rules — check them before a summer shoot.
Best time: Late afternoon, May to September.
- 05
Nowa Huta
Central Square, broad avenues, the arcades of socialist-realist blocks and the reed-lined Nowa Huta lagoon. For couples who want something less obvious than the Main Square: the architecture is graphic and there are hardly any tourists.
Best time: Afternoon; golden light suits the pale facades.
- 06
Krakus Mound
A prehistoric mound in Podgórze that looks over the whole city to Wawel and the towers of St Mary’s. Locals come up in the evening, but the slopes are broad, and wind in the long grass adds movement to the frame.
Best time: Sunset, spring to autumn.
Typically included
- Agreeing the district, time and outfits with your photographer
- About 60 minutes of photography in one part of Kraków
- Prompts along the way instead of stiff posing
- Selection and editing of the best frames
- An online gallery; delivery date in your proposal
Preparation
- Match your outfits without wearing identical sets: two calm colours and one shared accent.
- On Kazimierz and Old Town cobbles, avoid thin heels.
- For Zakrzówek, bring water and a light layer — the limestone holds summer heat.
- Bring something personal: a book, coffee from your favourite café, a bike or your dog.
- If you dream of an empty Market Square, book a morning.
Time of day
The best hour is the one before sunset — around 20:00 in June, about 17:00 in October, around 15:00 in December. Morning gives you an empty Main Square and Planty; in June the sun rises before 4:45. Midday works only in the shade of the Kazimierz streets.
Weather
Spring and early autumn are the easiest seasons for a session in Kraków: soft light, fresh green or golden leaves, and fewer visitors than in the summer holidays. Midday in summer is hot and harsh, with storms in the afternoon. In autumn and winter fog often sits over the city and softens the light. In rain, Kazimierz with its gateways and wet cobbles lets you finish the session.
Getting there
The Old Town, Kazimierz, Wawel and the riverbanks are 10–20 minutes apart on foot. Zakrzówek and Krakus Mound are a short tram ride away. Several tram lines run from the centre to Nowa Huta and Central Square, a ride of about half an hour. A car in the centre is more hindrance than help: the Old Town has restricted traffic.

Check availabilityFrequently asked questions
How much does a couple photoshoot in Kraków cost?
A couple photographer in Kraków costs from PLN 750 for about an hour in one area. More time, extra places, a peak-season weekend or dawn are surcharges listed in your proposal, and the date is booked once you accept it.
Where in Kraków can we shoot without crowds?
Kazimierz on a weekday morning, the Planty at dawn and Nowa Huta at almost any time are quiet. The boulevards and Krakus Mound at sunset are popular but spacious. The Main Square is empty only early in the morning.
Do we need a permit for a photoshoot in Kraków?
On the streets, the Planty and the riverbanks, an ordinary couple session needs no paperwork. Wawel, museums and sites with their own regulations are different — the operator sets the rules there. Your photographer plans a route without surprises.
Which season is best?
Spring and October give the nicest light and colour at comfortable temperatures. Summer is beautiful in the evening but needs a late start. Winter sessions are shorter, but snow on the Planty and Wawel gives completely different photographs.
Can the session hide a proposal?
Yes — many people use a couple session as the cover story and ask the question during it. It is then planned like a proposal shoot, with an agreed signal and spot. Mention it in your request so the photographer can prepare.
How many photos will we get?
After an hour you can expect a few dozen edited photos. The exact number and delivery time are in your proposal, since every photographer has their own package.
